Russian billiard player Diana Mironova won the World Free Pyramid Championship for the 16th time, which took place on June 13 in Surgut.

Mironova won the final game against compatriot Elina Nagulu with a score of 6:2. Mironova won gold at the world Championships for the 16th time — she again updated her own world record for the number of gold medals.

Among men, the title of world champion was won by Russian Alexander Molchanov. In the final series, he defeated Belarusian athlete Denis Kolosov with a score of 9:4.

On June 4, Russian Sports Minister Mikhail Degtyarev said at the "Towards the 2028 Olympics" session at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) that Russia was fully returning to the international sports arena. According to him, all restrictions have been completely lifted from the Russian Paralympic team. In addition, the International University Sports Federation has allowed Russian athletes to compete.
