- The Interior Ministry warned about the involvement of teenagers in crimes through the theme of patriotism
Scammers involve teenagers in crimes through the "pioneer syndrome". This was announced on June 13 by Vladimir Vasenin, head of the press service of the Moscow Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
"In the course of our work, we began to use such a concept as "pioneer syndrome". <...>. When we see a child committing crimes, we start working with him, we understand that this teenager [grew up] in a normal, full—fledged family, was educated quite patriotically," TASS quoted him as saying.
According to Vasenin, when a fraudster calls and says that he needs to complete a task from the security authorities or the police, the child's reflex of helping the state is triggered. The teenager does not evaluate the call critically, but immediately believes and begins to perform actions.
This year, the police have set the task to warn the maximum number of minors about this scheme. If a teenager commits a serious crime, he will receive a long sentence and will be lost to society, which, according to Vasenin, is a very dangerous story.
The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation reported on May 29 that in order to protect teenagers from fraudsters, parents were advised to install antivirus software on the child's computer and phone. You should also monitor his online contacts and not post information about children on the Internet.
