The Government should focus its efforts on developing the Azov Sea region and the region's potential. This was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on June 13 during a meeting on the development of the reunified regions of Russia.
"As a result (of the implementation of the Azov Sea region development strategy. The resource and recreational potential of the Azov Sea region should increase significantly. I take this opportunity to ask my government colleagues, together with the Agency for Strategic Initiatives, local leaders, and business representatives, to focus special efforts on implementing this strategy," he said.
Putin called for more active implementation of scientific and technological innovations, and for developing the investment climate in the region as a base for realizing the potential of the Azov region. He also pointed out that the Azov Sea region is capable of developing in the field of logistics and tourism, especially in conjunction with new regions of Russia.
Earlier in the day, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Tatyana Golikova announced that the new regions were fully integrated into the implementation of strategic measures and government programs of the Russian Federation. She also said that more than a third of families with children in Donbass and Novorossiya use state social contracts. Golikova also reported on the implementation of large-scale medical, infrastructural and social programs in the regions.
