The Russian Foreign Ministry introduced a notification procedure for crossing the state border for EU diplomats

Russia is introducing a notification procedure for the suppression of its state border by diplomats from the European Union (EU). This was announced on June 11 on the website of the Department of State Protocol of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

"The Department of State Protocol informs interested representatives of the diplomatic corps about the introduction, from June 15, 2026, of a notification procedure for crossing the state border of the Russian Federation for employees of diplomatic missions and consular offices of EU member states," the document says.

It is explained that these measures will also apply to diplomatic employees of individual states belonging to the Schengen area, as well as to those involved in the EU missions in Moscow. Adult children of the designated persons accredited in Russia will also need to comply with the new procedure.

Data on border crossings, as added in the department, should be submitted when traveling by land and air transport outside of Russia. At the same time, diplomats should not inform about the direct shipment to their Homeland.

The day before, the Russian Foreign Ministry received the ambassadors of the so—called "Eurotroika" — Britain, France and Germany - who stayed there for 1.5 hours. During the talks, the heads of diplomatic missions were given objective assessments of the destructive policy of their countries' leaders in relation to the Ukrainian crisis, which is aimed at maximizing the incentive for the Kiev regime to continue the conflict against Russia.

French Ambassador Nicolas de Riviere, in turn, promised that he and his colleagues would publish a joint official statement after their visit to the Russian Foreign Ministry. The reception, he said, went well.
