Honored Doctor of Russia Andrey Savin has died in St. Petersburg.
Andrey Savin, an Honored Doctor of Russia, head of the ENT Department of the Mariinsky Hospital and associate professor of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at the Pediatric University, died suddenly in St. Petersburg at the age of 68. This was announced on June 12 by the city's Health Committee.
"It is with deep sorrow that we inform you about the sudden death of Andrei Nikolaevich Savin, an outstanding doctor, scientist and teacher, at the age of 68. The light of a man whose life was dedicated to serving medicine, science and people has gone out. He left suddenly, at his workplace. He left, remaining faithful to his vocation until the last moment," the message on VKontakte says.
Since 2002, Savin has been the permanent head of the ENT department of the Mariinsky Hospital, turning it into a center of the highest professionalism. Patients came to him from different parts of the country.
His clinical intuition and deep knowledge have saved thousands of people. He also educated a whole generation of otorhinolaryngologists, many of whom became mentors and supervisors themselves.
