The Strong Armenia bloc demanded a review of the election results

The Strong Armenia bloc intends to seek a review of the election results in Armenia and will require the Central Election Commission to annul the results of the Civil Contract party's vote. This was stated on June 11 in a video message by Narek Karapetyan, who heads the list of the bloc.

"We demand a review of the election results!" he wrote on his Facebook page (owned by Meta, which is recognized as extremist and banned in Russia).

Karapetyan also stated that in the absence of a prompt response, the issue would be referred to the Constitutional Court. The politician is convinced that there were violations during the elections. In particular, according to him, military personnel and government officials were sent to vote in support of the Civil Contract party.

The Civil Contract party of the current Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan won 49.81% of the vote in the parliamentary elections on June 8. More than 727,000 voters voted for her. The second place was taken by "Strong Armenia", more than 340 thousand people voted for it — 23.29%. The final results of the voting in Armenia will be announced on June 14.

On June 10, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova pointed to unprecedented Western interference during the elections in Armenia. According to her, the European Union has turned a blind eye to the observance of democracy in this country for the sake of a beneficial result. On June 11, CEC Chairman Vahagn Hovakimyan announced that Armenia had invalidated the results of voting at one of the polling stations in the Nubarashen district of the capital Yerevan.
