The ambassadors of France, Great Britain and Germany held talks at the Russian Foreign Ministry on their own initiative. Russian troops continued to advance in the Konstantinovsky direction and took control of new settlements. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov discussed with Bahrain's Foreign Minister the situation in the Middle East and the safety of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. All the details and other main events of the day are in the Izvestia digest.

Meeting of Eurotroika ambassadors with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister

The Ambassadors of France, Great Britain and Germany, Nicolas de Riviere, Nigel Casey and Alexander Lambsdorff, visited the Russian Foreign Ministry, where they met with Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin. After the talks, the diplomats left the building of the department, without revealing the details of the conversation. French Ambassador Nicolas de Riviere said that a joint statement would be issued later following the meeting. According to him, the negotiations were held in a constructive manner.

According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the meeting was organized at the request of the ambassadors themselves. The official representative of the department, Maria Zakharova, noted that several years ago, diplomats refused to meet with Lavrov, while now they themselves have requested negotiations. Galuzin also explained the Russian approaches to resolving the situation, noting the priority of diplomatic methods provided that the root causes of the crisis are eliminated.

Russian Armed Forces expand control in the Konstantinovsky direction

Russian troops have fully established control over the eastern part of Konstantinovka in the DPR and reached the northeastern outskirts of the city. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the assault units of the Yug group continue street fighting and are advancing in the Novoselovka neighborhood, where the liberated neighborhoods are being cleaned up.

According to the agency, at the same time, Russian units took control of the settlements of Okhrimovka in the Kharkiv region and Luxuriant in the DPR. Several brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) were defeated in the Konstantinovsky area, which lost more than 120 soldiers, armored vehicles, artillery pieces and an electronic warfare station.

The Ministry of Defense also reported a strike by a Geran drone on a warehouse of Ukrainian drones in the Veliky Burluk area of the Kharkiv region. In addition, guided aerial bombs, HIMARS and Neptune missiles, as well as 798 aircraft-type drones were shot down by air defense systems. An unmanned Ukrainian Armed Forces boat was destroyed in the Black Sea.

Lavrov discussed the situation in the Middle East with the Bahraini Foreign Minister.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdel Latif bin Rashed al-Zayani called for the speedy restoration of safe and unhindered navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, which is of key importance to the global economy. The foreign ministers also stressed the importance of maintaining stability in the region. Lavrov stated the need to refrain from steps that could lead to the resumption of a large-scale conflict in the Middle East. In addition, the Russian side called attacks on civilian infrastructure facilities located in Arab countries unacceptable.

Rosselkhoznadzor has expanded restrictions on products from Armenia

The head of the Rosselkhoznadzor, Sergey Dankvert, said that Russia was able to replace the import of live fish from Armenia with supplies from other countries. According to him, in particular, trout supplies were redirected to Iran and Turkey, which made it possible to prepare for the possible introduction of restrictions. Against this background, Armenian Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan said that the republic has applied to the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) due to problems with the supply of products to Russia and expects to consider the issue within the framework of existing procedures. Later, the Rosselkhoznadzor announced that from June 12 it would restrict the import of all quarantined products from Armenia to Russia, as well as their transit through the territory of the Russian Federation to the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union. The ministry explained that the decision is related to the ongoing cases of detection of quarantine objects in the supplied products, despite the previously imposed restrictions and notifications of violations from the Armenian side.

Trump announced new strikes on Iran

US President Donald Trump said that Washington intends to launch "very powerful" strikes on Iran on the night of June 12. According to him, a significant part of the republic's military potential has already been destroyed. The American leader also allowed the establishment of control over the island of Kharq and other objects of Iran's oil and gas infrastructure, declaring the intention of the United States to take control of the country's oil and gas markets. Later, Trump noted that he would not like to conduct a ground operation in Iran, but confirmed plans for further strikes.
