Moscow court bans website with LGBT fanfiction
The Cheryomushkinsky court of Moscow has blocked a website with LGBT fanfiction (the movement is recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation) - amateur works that described romantic and sexual relationships of characters of the same sex. This is stated in the materials that Izvestia reviewed on June 11.
The court noted that the selection of works posted on the resource popularizes the idea of such relationships and can negatively affect teenagers.
"Such literature is aimed at changing the perception of the institution of the family and traditional values," the resolution emphasized.
The Krasnogvardeysky District Court of St. Petersburg has declared information about the film "Call Me by Your Name", in which Timothy Chalamet played one of the main roles, banned from distribution in Russia. As indicated in court on June 9, the films "With Love, Simon" and "Kill Your Loved Ones" were also banned.
The press service noted that the court examined the materials on six Internet links and concluded that there were signs of destructive ideology and propaganda of LGBT people in the films.
