- Over 400 soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine went missing near Okhrimovka, Kharkiv region
Over 400 soldiers of the 159th separate mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have been missing near the village of Okhrimovka, located in the Kharkiv region since December last year. This was reported on June 11 in the Russian law enforcement agencies.
"According to official data, 423 brigade soldiers have been missing in the 159th brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Okhrimovka area alone since December 1, 2025," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
The agency's interlocutor clarified that of the number they mentioned, most of the disappeared were marked on the lists as deserters.
On June 4, Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a meeting with the heads of international news agencies, said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine was sorely short of military personnel. According to the statistics he provided, the Ukrainian army has decreased by 100,000 people and continues to lose 40,000 soldiers every month.
Some time later, on June 8, Yulia Mendel, the former press secretary of the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, learned that in 2025, about 30 thousand students over the age of 25 were expelled from universities and colleges in Ukraine. She attributed this move to an attempt to prevent men from taking advantage of a study deferral.
