There are no optimal dates on which to take a summer vacation, depending on the epidemiological situation, but in August there is a sharp increase in the incidence of intestinal infections. This was announced on June 11 by Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, epidemiologist, Deputy President of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences Gennady Onishchenko.

"There is no such thing that you don't go in June because you will be sick, but in July everyone needs to go. But the sharpest rise in the incidence of intestinal infections begins in late July and August, because a large number of drugs enter the market...> vegetables and fruits," he told TASS.

As Onishchenko added, it is not necessary to determine the time and place of rest based on the activity of infections. It will only be enough to carry out the usual preparations for the rest and find out the specifics of the destination region.

"The ticks have come out this year — this does not mean that you should not go there. You just need to know what to follow so that there are no problems. We don't have any zones where you're bound to get sick. Even visiting the most disadvantaged area, if you follow the recommendations of the doctors, will be safe," he assured.

On May 23, Onishchenko also called for saving three months of rest in the summer. According to him, the duration of summer holidays for schoolchildren should not be changed. The academician noted that during the school period, children spend 45 minutes at their desks in each of the four to seven lessons, so in the summer it is important to ensure active pastime, including visits to health camps.
