CNN reported on Bill Gates' testimony in the Epstein case
Microsoft founder Bill Gates told members of the Oversight Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives that he did not know about the criminal activities of financier Jeffrey Epstein and had no close contacts with him. This was reported on June 10 by CNN.
"I have never witnessed that Epstein was engaged in criminal activity on a regular basis, and I did not have any information about it. I've never been to his island, his ranch, or his house in Florida," the TV channel quoted Gates as saying.
He also stressed that his interaction with Epstein was limited and not regular, and the contact itself stopped back in 2014. According to Gates, the acquaintance with the financier took place in 2011 and was initially connected with the discussion of projects in the field of global health.
Separately, the Microsoft founder noted that he later realized the fallacy of contacts with Epstein, adding that he supports the publication of all materials on the case to establish justice.
Epstein's files began to be published on December 20 last year, after the US president signed a bill on their publication on November 19 of the same year.
On February 14, former U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi published a list of more than 300 names of famous people who are mentioned in the files on the financier's case. It was clarified that the text contains the names of the 42nd American president Bill Clinton, the 46th head of state Joe Biden, one of the founders of Microsoft, Bill Gates, as well as singer Beyonce.
Sky News reported on March 6 that the U.S. Department of Justice has released additional documents related to the Epstein case. Earlier, Western media claimed that the American agency had concealed dozens of FBI interviews with Epstein's victims. It is reported that after publications in the media, the documents became available again.
