What happened
The tragedy occurred in the city center, in the Leninsky district on 8 Marta Street near house No. 17. Traffic police officers, investigators and emergency services were involved at the scene of the emergency. Denis Pasler, the governor of the region, indicated that there was a child among the dead.
The Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation opened two criminal cases on the incident: under Part 5 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of traffic rules and operation of vehicles, resulting in the death of two or more persons by negligence") and under Part 3 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code ("Provision of services that do not meet the requirements of life safety and the health of consumers, which negligently caused the death of two or more persons").
According to the investigation, after a collision with a passenger car, the bus left the roadway and hit pedestrians.
Injured and deceased
Later, the Sverdlovsk State Traffic Inspectorate released a recording of the incident. It shows how a vehicle collides with a car, leaves the road and crashes into a group of people. As a result of the incident, four people were killed: two women, a man and an underage girl. Four more people were injured.
