The politician recalled that Tolstoy participated in the defense of Sevastopol as an artillery lieutenant and commanded a battery for almost a year.

"Here they consistently destroy the panorama, the memory of what Leo Tolstoy described at one time and where he personally participated in his time. That is, they are trying to destroy the memory. This is such a purely Nazi story, so that nothing reminds us of our great people who fought in their time, but history is history, you can't erase words from it," Kolesnik said.

The parliamentarian expressed confidence that Ukrainians will have to answer both for the people and for the fact that they struck a blow to the memory of the Russian people.

"Nothing is going anywhere, both the military prosecutor's office and the military investigative committee are working. Let them wait, they will get it, but we will not strike at historical monuments of Ukraine under any circumstances," concluded Kolesnik.
