Over the past day, 338 road accidents have occurred on Russian roads, in which 24 people were killed and 408 injured. Among the dead, 21 people were drivers and passengers. This was reported to Izvestia on June 9 by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

As a result of 69 accidents, 30 of which occurred at pedestrian crossings and 39 outside their area of operation, three pedestrians were killed, and 70 more were injured in various degrees of severity. Among the injured were 22 underage pedestrians, 15 of whom were injured when crossing the roadway outside the designated areas.

There were 18 accidents involving buses, in which there were no fatalities, but 21 road users, including one child, required medical attention. Eight bus accidents were caused by traffic violations committed by their drivers.

So, in the early morning in Saratov on Moskovskoe Highway, a 34-year-old bus driver carrying six passengers crashed into a passenger car standing in front of him at a controlled intersection in front of a traffic light. As a result of the accident, the 30-year-old driver of the car was injured and taken to the hospital. 55 accidents involving minors were also registered, in which 62 young road users were injured, including 23 passengers and four motor vehicle drivers. There are no dead children.

In addition, traffic closures are in effect in some regions of the country due to adverse weather conditions or flood conditions. So, in the Siberian Federal District, due to flooding, sections of six regional highways of the Krasnoyarsk Territory were flooded, as a result of which traffic was temporarily stopped on them. In the Altai Territory, for the same reason, traffic was blocked on sections of one of the highways of regional importance.

When planning long-distance trips, the State Traffic Inspectorate recommended that drivers and passengers monitor the weather forecast, as well as media reports from traffic closures or restrictions. In case of a negative forecast or an unfavorable flood situation, it is recommended to postpone the trip to a later date until the weather conditions and traffic conditions improve. If you do have to go on the road, you should think in advance and determine possible ways to avoid problematic areas. In addition, the State Traffic Inspectorate drew the attention of drivers to the need for strict compliance with traffic rules in the summer.

"The differences between daytime and nighttime values, morning fogs, showers, rains, thunderstorms, as well as the resulting limited visibility and wet road surfaces increase the risk of accidents. Motorists should be more careful, avoid dangerous maneuvers, observe the established speed limit, and increase the interval and distance between vehicles. Driver's discipline is especially necessary if there are child passengers in your car, who should be transported in compliance with all applicable safety requirements," said Police Colonel Anton Belan, Deputy head of the Department for Road Safety Promotion and Prevention of Child Traffic Injuries at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.

On June 8, the State Traffic Inspectorate reported that the first summer weekends were marked by an increase in accidents involving minors. From Friday to Sunday (June 5-7), 181 accidents involving children under the age of 16 were recorded on Russian roads. 12 children were killed in these incidents, and another 198 were injured in various degrees of severity.
