Patrushev held an offsite meeting on waste management in Tatarstan
On June 9, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev, as part of a working trip to the Republic of Tatarstan, held an off-site meeting on the organization of a municipal solid waste management system.
The Deputy Prime Minister, together with the head of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, visited the KAMAZ plants, where the latest K5 generation trucks are produced - mainline tractors, cargo chassis for special equipment and medium—duty trucks for municipal tasks.
New garbage trucks are also being built on these chassis. The traditional reliability and practicality of the previous generation are combined with increased comfort, economy, and modern control and safety systems.
"In the coming years, we will have to build a large number of infrastructure facilities. Since the beginning of [20]26, four complexes have been put into operation: in the Leningrad and Chelyabinsk regions, the republics of North Ossetia—Alania and Dagestan. Several recycling facilities have also started operating. Comprehensive monitoring should be provided not only for large construction sites. This also applies to other areas in which we have approved roadmaps. In particular, in 2025, the subjects purchased more than 62 thousand containers, and another 63 thousand should be purchased in 2026. The renewal of the fleet of special equipment is also continuing. The preferential leasing mechanism has become a great help here. During the year, about 1.5 thousand garbage trucks and other equipment were purchased in this way," Patrushev said.
Patrushev paid a working visit to the Krasnodar Territory on January 15, where he inspected the Novorossiysk MSW landfill and the Kopanskaya waste recycling complex. During the subsequent meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister pointed out that in order to achieve the goal of forming a closed-loop economy in the Kuban in the coming years, 12 infrastructure facilities will have to be built. Their total waste treatment capacity should exceed 2 million tons per year, and 1 million tons for recycling.
