The State Duma introduced an "alarm button" on "Public Services" to combat fraud
The State Duma (DG) has passed a law introducing the "red button" service on Gosuslugi, which will allow users to promptly suspend remote money transactions if they suspect a crime has been committed. This was announced on June 9 on the website of the State Duma.
"Scammers are criminals. And our task is to put a barrier to those who are trying to use artificial intelligence and other new opportunities to deceive citizens," said Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the State Duma.
He stressed that law enforcement and supervisory authorities should promptly analyze the situation within the framework of law enforcement. According to Volodin, such work will make it possible to make additional decisions to protect people.
To protect minors, "child" SIM cards are introduced. Parents will be able to notify operators about the use of the number by the child, which will oblige the company to provide access only to secure content.
In addition, citizens will be required to provide the telecom operator with their phone identification number (IMEI) for entry into the contract.
On May 17, Volodin announced that the State Duma plans to approve new decisions in the near future aimed at protecting citizens from fraudsters. According to him, 11 federal laws in the field of fraud protection have already been adopted since 2025.
