Nutritionist named the best way to quench thirst in the heat
Nutritionist, endocrinologist Anton Polyakov told how it is most effective to quench thirst in the heat without harm to the body. In conversation with aif.ru On Tuesday, June 9, a specialist noted that ordinary cool water quenches thirst best.
According to him, preference should be given to high-quality mineral or carbonated water, as it helps to refresh more effectively. Polyakov also noted that water enriched with hydrogen molecules, which, in his opinion, has antioxidant properties and quenches thirst well, could be a good option.
To make the drink more refreshing, the expert advised adding a little lemon or ginger to the water. In addition, natural sugar-free drinks are suitable in hot weather. He recommended chilled compotes made from fresh berries and fruits, calling them a good alternative to sugary drinks.
On June 8, ambulance paramedic Alena Ivanenkova, in an interview with the Moscow City News agency, recommended drinking 15-20 degrees of water in the heat. Water of this temperature smoothly reduces the temperature of the "internal environment" of the body, unlike ice water or, conversely, hot water.
At the same time, general practitioner Elena Pavlova recommended cooling the body pointwise during the heat. According to her, it is necessary to drink water properly: do not wait for thirst, but drink before going outside. The norm is 200-300 ml every 20-30 minutes, according to 360.ru .
On the same day, general practitioner Anastasia Polyakova told RT that alcohol should be completely eliminated in the heat, as it disrupts thermoregulation, which in turn increases the risk of overheating of the body. Carbonated drinks should also be avoided, as they increase thirst more than they quench it.
Before that, on June 4, nutritionist and aromatherapist Elena Milaeva stated that the abuse of sugary soda in the heat provokes the development of pancreatic cancer and creates an extreme strain on the body. Such drinks trigger dangerous pathological processes in the body due to excessive sugar content, NSN notes.
In May, doctors warned about the dangers of ice cream in the heat. According to gastroenterologist Anastasia Molchanova, ice cream in the heat creates additional stress on the body due to sudden cooling. Dessert can provoke spasm of blood vessels and ducts.
Earlier, Rosbiotech Professor Marina Moiseyak, in an interview with Pravda.Ru I noted that due to the low temperature, sugary soda seems less cloying, so it is often drunk in larger quantities. As a result, the blood glucose level rises sharply, and then is replaced by a feeling of fatigue. Excess sugar causes thirst, and excess fluid puts strain on the heart.
