A resident of the Stavropol Territory drove an old Lada to Dubai
Ivan Kochetkov, a resident of the Stavropol Territory, traveled to Dubai in a VAZ-2100 (Zhiguli) car, completing the journey in about two months. He told about it on June 8 360.ru .
"Now the traveler continues his vacation in the UAE and is already thinking about new car adventures," the message says.
According to the man, the car was purchased for 57 thousand rubles. The idea of the trip was to show the contrast between a simple Soviet car and one of the most modern and affluent cities in the world.
The route passed through several countries and was accompanied by difficulties. On the border with Georgia, a man had to remove stickers with wishes from friends. In Iraq, he said, he lost consciousness due to the intense heat, but was able to continue on his way.
Despite the difficulties, the traveler reached his destination and arrived in Dubai. There he met the dawn at the foot of the Burj Khalifa skyscraper and informed his family about the end of the trip.
Kochetkov noted that the trip was a test for him, but he managed to complete the route completely without a car failure.
Nikita Kuznetsov, a resident of Tatarstan, completed a walking route from Kazan to Jerusalem in December 2025. The traveler told Izvestia that strangers helped him along the way: they invited him to visit, fed him, and did not take money from shops and establishments. Physically, it was hardest to cross the Caucasus Mountains in Georgia, and the moral burden was felt in Russia in the first month, when only his relatives knew about his journey.
