Filevskaya and Sokolnicheskaya lines of the Moscow metro will become longer. This was announced by the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, in his channel in Maks.

Filevskaya will increase by about 12 kilometers and reach Skolkovo. Sokolnicheskaya line will be extended to Yaroslavsky district. "We plan that with the extension of the lines, the intervals on them will become more comfortable," Sobyanin said. According to him, they will be reduced to 1.5 minutes on Sokolnicheskaya Street and 3 minutes on Filevskaya Street.

The Filevskaya branch will stretch from Kuntsevskaya to Skolkovo and will grow by about 12 km. According to the mayor, the construction of a new section of the metro will cover the territory of four districts: Fili-Davydkovo, Kuntsevo, Ochakovo-Matveevskoye and Mozhaisky. It is planned to build five new stations: Vereyskaya, Skolkovskoe Highway, Marfino, Skolkovo and Medical Center.

Sobyanin stressed that the Skolkovo territory is developing rapidly: large scientific, technological and medical clusters are being formed, residential quarters and social infrastructure are being built. About 320,000 people will live near the five new stations, the head of the capital noted. Thanks to the extension, the time to travel around the city will be reduced to 25 minutes for them. In the future, seven-car trains will carry passengers on the Filevskaya line to improve comfort, the mayor said.

The Sokolnicheskaya line, the oldest in the city, will extend to the Yaroslavsky district, where about 100 thousand people live. The territory next to the National Research University MGSU, one of the leading construction universities in the country, is actively developing here, Sobyanin recalled. On the new 8.1 km long section, which will run northeast from Rokossovsky Boulevard, it is planned to build two stations - MGSU and Yaroslavskaya (Kholmogorskaya).

"For most people living and working in the area, the metro will be within walking distance," wrote the head of Moscow. He added that the travel time will be reduced by about 20 minutes.
