- The NAC reported an increase in terrorist crimes in the Northwestern Federal District
Since 2023, the number of terrorist crimes has tripled in the Northwestern Federal District (NWFD). This was announced on June 9 by Alexander Bortnikov, Chairman of the National Anti-Terrorist Committee (NAC) and Director of the FSB of Russia, at a meeting of the NAC.
"The Kiev regime's desire to inflict maximum damage to the economic potential and defense capability of our country is manifested in <...> attempts to involve our citizens, mainly teenagers and young people, in terrorist activities. This is reflected in a threefold increase in the number of terrorist crimes in the district compared to 2023," Bortnikov said.
According to him, the situation in the field of countering terrorism in the district remains difficult. The Kiev regime seeks to inflict maximum damage on Russia by trying to involve Russian citizens, primarily teenagers and young people, in terrorist activities.
Bortnikov stressed the need to strengthen the anti-terrorist protection of facilities, develop adequate measures to respond to sabotage, as well as enhance the prevention of terrorism, especially among young people. At the meeting, the NAC developed additional measures to improve the system of countering terrorist threats in the Northwestern Federal District.
The head of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) Denis Pushilin announced on June 5 at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2026) that soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) had begun to carry out the next stage of crimes against civilians. The Ukrainian military, as Pushilin added, deliberately and deliberately attacks those objects that are not military.
