US President Donald Trump attended the third match of the National Basketball Association (NBA) finals series, which took place at the Madison Square Garden Arena in New York. This was reported on June 9 by NBC News.

"Trump watched the match from the box of Knicks owner James Dolan, along with his granddaughter Kai, personal adviser Boris Epstein, and ministers Lee Zeldin, Sean Duffy, and Doug Bergam," the statement said.

According to NBC News, the president's visit sparked discussions even before his appearance at the arena. The increased security measures led to the cancellation of some events for fans near the stadium, which caused discontent among some of the spectators.

On May 7, Trump announced that he would not pay $1,000 to attend the opening World Cup 2026 between the American and Paraguayan national teams. In addition, he expressed concern about the high cost of tickets, as ordinary fans, including his constituents from Queens and Brooklyn, would not be able to get into the stands.
