The Bundestag called the abandonment of nuclear energy one of the main mistakes of Germany

One of Germany's main mistakes was the abandonment of nuclear energy. This was announced on June 9 by Bundestag deputy from the right-wing opposition Alternative for Germany (AfD) party Steffen Kotre.

In his opinion, this has led to the destruction of the technological base and the loss of competencies, and now the country will have to attract specialists from all over the world.

"This is completely incomprehensible to me and is one of the most serious mistakes made in Germany in recent decades," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said at a joint press conference with Czech Prime Minister Andrei Babis on March 10 that Germany's decision to abandon nuclear energy would not be reviewed. In turn, the head of the European Commission, von der Leyen, called the reduction of the share of nuclear energy in Europe a strategic mistake.
