North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has declared his readiness to bring North Korea's relations with China to a new level. This was reported by KCNA on June 9.

"Comrade Kim Jong-un mentioned that the DPRK and China are not just neighbors in natural and geographical terms, but have come together on the basis of unity of ideology and military cooperation <...> And expressed readiness to raise the Korean-Chinese friendship relations based on excellent traditions and history to a new level," the publication says.

Chinese President Xi Jinping made a response speech. During his visit, together with Comrade Kim Jong-un, he reached an important understanding and expressed his determination to develop Sino-Korean relations at a high level.

The Xinhua news agency reported on June 8 that Xi Jinping arrived in North Korea on a state visit, the first visit by a Chinese leader to the country in the last eight years.

The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported on June 5 that Xi Jinping will visit North Korea from June 8-9 at the invitation of Kim Jong-un.
