207 thousand families received Far Eastern and Arctic mortgages.
207 thousand families have already purchased new apartments with the help of preferential Far Eastern and Arctic mortgages. This was announced on June 9 by Alexei Chekunkov, Russia's Minister for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic.
"207,000 families have already received new apartments using Far Eastern and Arctic mortgages. This is more than 1 trillion rubles, physically invested in the construction of, as a rule, new housing. And, of course, this is, without exaggeration, the most important driver of growth and a driver of improving the quality of life," Chekunkov said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
Under the terms of the program, you can apply for a housing loan in the Far East and the Arctic at a discounted rate of 2% per annum. The head of the department stressed that over 1 million rubles were allocated to the construction sector, and the funds went mainly to the construction of new houses. According to him, the implementation of this measure has become one of the key incentives for the economic development of the regions and a noticeable improvement in the living conditions of local residents.
Analysts at Sberbank's Domclick said on June 1 that more than a quarter of all mortgage transactions concluded in the first five months of this year involved the involvement of maternity capital.
On April 15, the press service of the Social Fund of the Russian Federation reported that since the beginning of this year, the volume of maternity capital payments in Russia has increased by 39.4 billion rubles compared to the same period in 2025. It is noted that the main use of the maternity capital was the improvement of housing conditions. So, about 100 billion rubles were allocated for these purposes. Of this amount, over 82 billion rubles were used to repay mortgages and loans.
