Over the past three days, nine residents of the Irkutsk region have suffered as a result of fraud. The total damage amounted to about 2 million rubles.
In Taishet, a 42-year-old man responded to an earnings advertisement. The victim was contacted by a fake broker, who persuaded the man to "invest" his own and credit funds. Within a few months, a local resident transferred 1.5 million rubles to outside accounts. IrkutskMedia news agency writes about this.
Another victim of fraud was a 73-year-old resident of Irkutsk. He was contacted by an "employee of the company" for the maintenance of the intercom. Under the pretext of replacing the equipment, she asked me to dictate the code from an SMS message. Then the scammers convinced the man that someone was allegedly trying to steal money from his account. The pensioner transferred 150 thousand rubles to an outside account.
In Primorsky Krai, fraudsters lured 4.7 million rubles from a pensioner. The victim believed that her personal data had been stolen and agreed to transfer the money to be credited to a "secure account" through an intermediary.
