The military commander of Izvestia Fedorchak, who died in the SVO zone, became the winner of the TEFI prize.

Izvestia's military correspondent Alexander Fedorchak, who died in the area of a special military operation (SVO) last March, won the TEFI Award in the Reporter category on June 8.

The jury members were captivated by Fedorchak's report "Kursk Liberation. The direction is eternity" — the experts voted for it unanimously.

During the award ceremony, Channel One CEO Konstantin Ernst announced a minute of silence in memory of the deceased Izvestia correspondent.

TEFI is an annual Russian award given for outstanding achievements in the field of television.

Izvestia correspondent Alexander Fedorchak died in the SVR zone on March 24, 2025. At the same time, Andrey Panov, the operator of the Zvezda TV channel, and Alexander Sirkeli, the driver of the film crew, died. On April 17, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree awarding Fedorchak the Order of Courage posthumously.

On May 21, Simferopol hosted the photo exhibition "Hearts that left the light. Military commander — Alexander Fedorchak", dedicated to the deceased correspondent of Izvestia. The participants read poems dedicated to the deceased Fedorchak. Natalia Terentyeva, Vice-president of the Women of Taurida Foundation, noted that in the future it is planned to hold commemorative events in honor of other figures who have left a creative mark.
