In the Sverdlovsk Region, from June 10, they will begin issuing state registration plates, which will indicate the new region code — 166. It will be assigned if this is the initial registration for the vehicle or if the car owner needs to replace the number due to a change in the vehicle registration data.

According to the <url> news agency, with reference to the press service of the regional State Traffic Inspectorate, previously issued registration plates with codes 66, 96 and 196 will be valid, they do not need to be changed. The format of the license plates fully complies with the current state standards.

The agency notes that the number code has been changed several times in the Sverdlovsk region. At first, the region was assigned the code 66, in 2006 96 was added, and in 2013 196 appeared. Thus, the car fleet of the Middle Urals will soon have a fourth code, 166.

Earlier it was reported that the Sverdlovsk region was included in the list of regions with low car costs. On average in Russia, the average cost of owning a car is 101 thousand rubles per year, but in some regions it is 4% less. According to Avito Auto experts, the lowest cost of ownership was in the Omsk region and Udmurtia.: There, an average of 97 thousand rubles a year are spent on fuel, insurance, maintenance and taxes. This is followed by the Ryazan region (98 thousand rubles) and the Sverdlovsk region (98 thousand rubles).
