Solar flares of the penultimate power class are expected on Monday and Tuesday, June 8 and 9. This was reported by experts from the Institute of Applied Geophysics (IPG) named after Academician E. K. Fedorov.

"Class M outbreaks are expected," they said in an interview with TASS.

Such phenomena, as explained in the scientific institution, can be accompanied by solar plasma emissions and provoke the occurrence of magnetic storms. At the same time, the agency's interlocutors clarified that flash solar activity in the designated period will be generally low.

Two days earlier, employees of the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy at the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) predicted a magnetic storm that could occur between June 11 and 12. It was noted that this phenomenon would be caused by a coronal hole in the Sun.
