The UK has opened a criminal case into a bus accident in the Yaroslavl region.

The Investigative Committee has opened a criminal investigation into a bus accident near the Yaroslavl region, which injured 12 people. This was reported in the press service of the department.

"The investigative authorities of the Investigative Committee of Russia in the Yaroslavl region have opened a criminal case into a traffic accident involving a passenger bus," the report said.

It is noted that a criminal case was initiated under paragraph "b" of Part 2 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Provision of services that do not meet the requirements for the safety of life and health of consumers, which negligently caused serious harm to human health").

According to the investigation, a tour bus overturned near the village of Sverchkovo. There were 33 people in the vehicle at the time of the accident, including four children. The ministry noted that according to preliminary information, 12 people, including two children, were injured in the accident.

The governor of the Yaroslavl Region, Mikhail Evraev, announced on the same day that a tour bus had overturned in the region, injuring 12 people. At the moment, the road is blocked, the causes of the accident are being investigated. Later, the number of victims increased to 20.
