Trump had previously said that there was no need for a ground operation by American troops against Iran. At the same time, the head of the White House expressed confidence that Iran's supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei was participating in the negotiation process between Tehran and Washington and noted that he would like to meet the Iranian leader.
