- The photo exhibition of the Times and Epochs Festival will open in the Moscow metro
From June 9 to 19, a photo exhibition of the Times and Epochs festival, which takes place as part of the Summer in Moscow urban project, will be held at Prospekt Vernadskogo metro station in the passage between the Bolshaya Koltsevaya and Sokolnicheskaya lines. This was announced by the organizers.
The exhibition will combine more than 20 photographs taken at the festival venues in different years. The images will introduce passengers to the historical eras represented in the reconstructions, from Antiquity and Ancient Russia to the 19th and 20th centuries.
Among the exhibits are shots from the sites of the Moskino Film Park, where events of several historical periods were recreated in different years. A special place in the exhibition is occupied by the project "Victorious 45th. Moscow Chronicles", dedicated to the life of the capital in the first months after the Great Victory. The photographs depict the streets of Moscow in the 1940s, military equipment and scenes of everyday life of the townspeople.
Visitors will also see photographs of reconstructions of events of the 17th century related to the Russian-Polish war and the uprising of Bogdan Khmelnitsky, footage from sites dedicated to the Patriotic War of 1812, and materials from ancient reconstructions of parades and gladiator fights.
The exhibition also includes photographs from VDNKH, where in 2024 a special project was implemented with the reconstruction of the parade of athletes from the 1930s and scenes from famous Soviet films.
This year, the Times and Epochs festival is taking place in all districts of Moscow. It unites 27 district sites, central urban spaces and four flagship park areas. About a thousand reenactors participate in the events, and 15 large-scale historical reconstructions are planned at key sites.
The photo exhibition will allow Muscovites and guests of the capital to get acquainted with the history of the festival during their daily trips around the city.
