All British submarines are out of service and are undergoing maintenance. This was reported on June 7 by The Telegraph newspaper, citing sources.

"The entire fleet of nuclear-powered combat submarines at the Navy's disposal is in port <...> All five British Astute-class submarines are awaiting maintenance and repair. The sixth, who joined the service, is not yet ready to perform tasks," the article says.

The publication notes that the new Dreadnough-class submarines will not enter service for many more years. According to the published comprehensive review of UK security, defense and foreign policy issues, this type of submarine will appear around the beginning of the 2030s, the newspaper writes.

On May 10, The Times newspaper learned about Britain's plans to spend up to 200,000 pounds on redesigning women's uniforms due to the fact that its buttons diverged in the chest area. This initiative was criticized by representatives of the country's naval forces (Navy), as its implementation was supposed to be in conditions of a defense budget deficit. Six days earlier, the former head of the United Kingdom's Armed Forces Joint Command, Richard Barrons, had pointed out that London did not have the money to buy new weapons until 2030.
