During his visit to Kaliningrad, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia consecrated the monument to the Holy Prince Vladimir on Cathedral Square. The relevant information is published on the website of the Kaliningrad Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC).

The monument is a six-meter bronze statue mounted on a pedestal. The total height of the entire architectural composition is 10.5 m. The monument's design was unanimously approved by the Cultural Council in April. The author of the architectural solution was Ivan Solovyov, a member of the Union of Architects of Russia. Kirill Chizhov, a member of the Russian Union of Artists, became the sculptor of the monument.

In addition, Patriarch Kirill celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior.

"Before the start of the divine service, His Holiness the Patriarch blessed the numerous believers gathered on Cathedral Square," the website of the Russian Orthodox Church clarified.

In addition, in his report at the meeting of the Kaliningrad clergy, published on the website of the Russian Orthodox Church, stated the need to build new churches in Kaliningrad.

"In Kaliningrad itself, where half a million people live, there are 34 parish churches. For such a city, given its great importance, <...> this is not enough. It is necessary to think about the construction of new churches in the city of Kaliningrad," said the head of the Russian Orthodox Church.

Easter services were held in Kaliningrad Cathedral of Christ the Savior on April 19. The faithful brought cakes, eggs and other dishes to the divine services to receive their blessings for the Easter meal.
