Two people disappeared near Irkutsk after a boat capsized
Two people — the captain and a passenger — disappeared after a boat capsized in the Ust-Ilimsky reservoir in the Irkutsk region. According to the Izvestia source, the trip was related to the performance of work.
The incident occurred on June 5th. The small vessel KS-100 capsized at a distance of 4 km from the coast and sank. Two people trapped in the water have disappeared, and their search continues.
A criminal case has been opened into the incident under Part 3 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of the rules of traffic safety and operation of inland waterway transport, which negligently resulted in the death of two persons").
The press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Udmurtia said on June 7 that a motor boat collided with a self-propelled cargo ship on the Kama River in the Karakulinsky district of the region, which claimed the life of a 38-year-old man. The cause of the accident was that the skipper of the motorboat did not notice the ship going down the river. The people on both ships were fishing.
