Sibiga announced restrictions on entry to Ukraine for Russians after HIS

After the conflict ends, Ukraine will apply entry restrictions to Russian citizens. This was announced on June 5 by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga at a joint press conference with Slovak Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs Juraj Blanar.

"It is impossible for a Russian citizen to enter Ukraine without a special permit, visa, verification or filtering by all our involved services. Therefore, there is no such threat (the influx of Russian migrants. — Ed.) I don't see it yet," the minister told reporters, his words are reported by the local TV channel Channel 24.

Sibiga added that these measures will remain in place after the conflict is resolved.

On February 9, American journalist Thomas Fasey expressed dissatisfaction with Sibiga's statement about the ban on entry to the countries of the European Union (EU) for Russians who participated in a special military operation (SVO). Earlier, the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter) that the EU should take such measures against Russian citizens for the sake of their safety.
