Two-time Olympic champion Rylov held the last swim
Two-time Olympic swimming champion Evgeny Rylov held his last swim after the opening ceremony of the Russian Championship in Kazan. This was announced on June 6 by the Russian Federation of Water Sports.
"Every big sports story comes to an end one day. For Evgeny Rylov, these were years of hard training, overcoming himself, ups and downs, culminating in triumphant victories and well—deserved awards," the Telegram channel says.
In addition to the Olympic silver and bronze medals, the 29-year-old Russian swimmer won two gold medals at the Tokyo Games in 2021 in the 100-meter and 200-meter backstroke. The athlete is also a five-time world champion and a four-time European champion.
The Russian Aquatics Federation announced Rylov's farewell swim on June 2. It was specified that the swim would take place after the opening ceremony of the Russian Championship.
