Beglov noted the success of SPIEF 2026 for St. Petersburg

Alexander Beglov, Governor of St. Petersburg, summed up the results of the XXIX St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. According to him, according to the results of SPIEF 2026, the city has concluded 74 agreements, including 41 investment agreements, totaling 731.72 billion rubles. The new SPIEF has become one of the most productive for the city," the governor noted. "Together with reliable partners, St. Petersburg has taken an important step towards the successful implementation of the 10 Development Priorities program and new national projects. On the evening of June 5, I reported this to the President of Russia."

The Mayor thanked all the participants in the preparation and holding of the forum, which brought together representatives of more than 130 countries.

A significant part of the signed documents is aimed at developing the industrial potential of the city. Among the key projects is the construction of the third stage of the pharmaceutical plant of Pharmsintez—Nord JSC, which is connected with the implementation of a new national project in the field of bioeconomics and biotechnologies. Agreements have also been reached on the reindustrialization of LOMO's territory in cooperation with the Kalashnikov concern, which will accelerate the modernization and localization of production in the fields of optics, electronics and instrumentation. In addition, an agreement was signed on the establishment of the Aurora Vitebsk Industrial Park for the food industry. The total volume of industrial block agreements exceeded 170 billion rubles.

Special attention at the forum was paid to the development of the scientific and educational sphere and high-tech areas. St. Petersburg has expanded its cooperation with the Sirius Center: a new agreement with the Talent and Success Foundation provides for the implementation of the National Campus of Technological Leadership and Development of Critical Technologies in St. Petersburg. Together with Gazprom Neft, it is planned to create a multifunctional interuniversity engineering campus in Kronstadt. Also, on the sidelines of the forum, the parameters of a trilateral agreement with the Russian Ministry of Education and Science on the establishment of an engineering school for technical universities in the city were worked out. Another area was the agreement with the Herzen Russian State Pedagogical University on the expansion of career guidance in schools and the training of teachers for the vocational education system.

Among the priorities of the forum, the governor highlighted the digital transformation of the economy and the social sphere. Among the most significant agreements are agreements with Sberbank PJSC on the introduction of artificial intelligence technologies in housing and communal services and biometric solutions in the transport system, as well as an agreement with PSB Bank PJSC on the use of AI and Figital infrastructure when issuing a Unified St. Petersburg Card. In addition, agreements have been reached on the launch of resident cards based on the ECP in the Republic of Karelia and the Pskov region.

According to Alexander Beglov, SPIEF 2026 has become an important stage in the implementation of major infrastructure projects. An agreement has been signed on the creation of a new zoo site in Primorsky district with an area of more than 85 hectares. The implementation of the St. Petersburg Marina all-season resort project was also discussed at the forum. On the morning of June 5, construction of stage 4.1 of the Latitudinal high-speed Highway with a new drawbridge across the Neva River began. Additionally, an agreement was signed on the development of urban planning and design documentation for the construction of the Novo-Admiralteysky Bridge.

One of the key areas of the forum was attracting private investment in cultural heritage sites. Agreements were signed on the adaptation of the Kresty complex for modern use and the creation of two hotels on its territory. The investor will also be engaged in the restoration of the Thornton Woolen Goods factory complex and the Vargunins paper mill complex in the Nevsky district. In addition, an agreement was reached with Severgroup to attract investments to adapt the city's cultural heritage sites to modern use.

Within the framework of interregional cooperation, St. Petersburg has concluded about ten agreements and roadmaps with the subjects of the Russian Federation. In particular, a roadmap was signed with the Arkhangelsk Region for the preparation and holding of events dedicated to the 600th anniversary of the founding of the first monastic settlement in the Solovetsky Archipelago.

The second day of the forum ended with a Governor's reception in the courtyards of the Chapel and the main concert of the SPIEF cultural program on Palace Square, which, according to the city authorities, gathered about 100,000 spectators.
