FIFA allowed to carry plastic water bottles at the 2026 World Cup
The International Football Federation (FIFA) has allowed fans to bring plastic water bottles to the 2026 World Cup matches, which will be held in the United States, Canada and Mexico. This was announced on June 6 on the organization's page on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
"All fans will be able to carry one 20-ounce (590 ml) soft plastic water bottle with a sealed lid," the publication says.
FIFA Chief Operating Officer Heimo Shirgi clarified that at the same time, the carrying of rigid plastic containers and reusable bottles will remain prohibited.
FIFA has not allowed the use of vuvuzelas at the 2026 World Cup matches, which will be held in the United States, Mexico and Canada. According to the source, the restriction also applies to whistles, horns and other objects that create loud noise.
