ATOR announced the interest of Russian tourists in monastic life and surfing

Russian tourists have become interested in such areas of tourism as trips to monasteries (monasteries) or villages (ibbing). This was announced on June 6 by the head of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) Maya Lomidze on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

"The trend is not to create new types of tourism, but to "rediscover" niches that suddenly came to the surface and interested more travelers. <...> For example, monastic or izbing, which in Russian means just a trip to monasteries or living in a remote village," she shared in an interview with RIA Novosti.

In addition, Lomidze stressed that interest in folk art workshops has grown among Russian travelers. She also noted the interest in agrotourism, which includes participation in apple picking.
