The second half of the friendly match between the Russian national football team and Burkina Faso was worse than the first. This opinion was expressed on June 5 by the head coach of the Russian national team, Valery Karpin.

"The first half was good, but the second half was not. Is the problem them or us? They didn't replace all the players, but they came out and played better. Accordingly, the problem is with us," the coach is quoted as saying on the official website of the Russian Football Union (RFU).

The meeting of the Russian national team with the Burkina Faso team took place on June 5 in Volgograd and ended with a score of 3:0 in favor of the Russians. Lechi Sadulaev scored the first goal of the match. In addition, Alexey Miranchuk and Ilya Vakhania were among the Russian national team.

The RFU press service reported on May 18 that the coaching staff of the Russian national football team has decided on the squad for the summer series of friendly matches. Four goalkeepers were entrusted with the goal: Denis Adamov from Zenit, Anton Mitryushkin (Lokomotiv), Stanislav Agkatsev (Krasnodar) and Alexander Maksimenko (Spartak). The forwards are Konstantin Tyukavin (Dynamo), Dmitry Vorobyov (Lokomotiv) and Georgy Melkadze (Akhmat).
