A court in Yerevan has arrested former Armenian Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan for one month. This was announced on June 5 by his lawyer Tigran Atanesyan.

"There is no reason for this, I cannot work with such a level of jurisprudence, this is not jurisprudence," the lawyer told Sputnik Armenia reporters outside the court on the Telegram channel.

On May 24, a court in Yerevan arrested Andranik Tevanyan, a parliamentary candidate and leader of the Mother Armenia party. The party believes that the leader is accused of "absurd, far-fetched and unfounded" crimes. The politician's lawyer, Aram Orbelian, also stated that there are no grounds for initiating a criminal case.
