Kneissl said Putin and Lavrov have a good sense of humor
Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov have a great sense of humor. This was stated on June 5 by Karin Kneissl, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Austria, head of the St. Petersburg State University's G.O.R.K.L. Center, after the plenary session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
"I have always appreciated this quality in Vladimir Putin and Sergey Lavrov. Intelligence and a sense of humor," Kneissl shared, her words are quoted by RIA Novosti.
The former Foreign Minister also expressed regret that humor is disappearing in other countries at the moment.
On April 26, Putin jokingly advised world boxing champion Vsevolod Shumkov to continue biting his rivals. This is how the Russian leader commented on the boxer's promise to "no longer bite rivals by the ear."
On April 24, Lavrov, answering a question about the art of Russian diplomacy, recalled an anecdote about the Armenian radio. He also announced the possibility of adding this method to the arsenal of diplomacy. During a meeting in Moscow on April 21 with Taher al-Baour, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Government of National Unity (GNA) of Libya, the Russian Foreign Minister provoked laughter from the audience by joking about the language of negotiations.
