Russia deliberately went to the cooling of the economy for the sake of its recovery. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin on June 5 during the plenary session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2026).

"We are deliberately going to cool down the economy. And neither today, I want to assure you of this, nor in the near future do we see any threats. On the contrary, we see that our actions bring certain results," Putin assured.
