Rosneft has signed a trilateral cooperation agreement in the field of personnel training with Lomonosov Moscow State University and MSU-SPI University in Shenzhen (China). The document within the framework of SPIEF 2026 was signed by Igor Sechin, Rosneft's Chief Executive Officer, Viktor Sadovnichy, Rector of Moscow State University, and Li Hezhang, Rector of MSU-PPI University in Shenzhen.
The agreement provides for the training of Rosneft employees in several areas under joint programs of Moscow State University and MSU-PPI University in Shenzhen. The company's employees will be able to study operational efficiency improvement, logistics, digitalization, artificial intelligence and new technologies in the oil and gas sector.
In the years 2026-2027, announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping as cross-years of cooperation in the field of education, the agreement is of particular strategic importance, Rosneft stressed. The partnership not only strengthens bilateral educational ties, but also corresponds to the priorities of the initiative, contributing to the training of highly qualified personnel in demand in the context of deepening cooperation between the two countries, the company noted.
MSU has been a key partner university of Rosneft since 2006. The main areas of cooperation include training and retraining of personnel and research activities. In particular, the Rosneft Scientific and Educational Center for Digital Technologies in the Oil and gas Industry was established on the basis of the Department of Geology and Geochemistry of Combustible Minerals of the Geological Faculty of Moscow State University, and the corporate master's program "Genomics and Human Health" was established on the basis of the Faculty of Biology of Moscow State University.
MSU-SPI University in Shenzhen was established in 2017 by Lomonosov Moscow State University, Beijing Polytechnic Institute and the Shenzhen Municipal People's Government. The University provides training in China for young specialists necessary for the implementation of economic projects of the two countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
