The International Football Federation (FIFA) has not allowed the use of vuvuzelas at the 2026 World Cup matches, which will be held in the United States, Mexico and Canada. This is reported by the Sportsnet TV channel.

According to the source, the restriction also applies to whistles, horns and other objects that create loud noise. Stadium visitors will be able to carry musical instruments longer than 12 cm only with the written consent of the organizers.

"Drones and reusable water bottles are also prohibited," the publication says.

The vuvuzela is a long horn from South Africa that became popular during the 2010 World Cup. Due to the monotonous loud sound, these instruments have since been banned from a number of sporting events around the world.

The World Cup will be held from June 11 to July 19 and for the first time 48 national teams will take part.

The French newspaper L'Équipe reported earlier that day that the organizers of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico, decided to change the traditional procedure for playing the national anthems of the participating countries. Now, before the start of the match, not only 11 players of the starting line-up will enter the field, but all the players included in the application for the match.
