- Dodik informed about the interest of Republika Srpska students in studying in the Russian Federation
Students from Republika Srpska are actively interested in studying in Russia, and their interest is constantly growing. Former President of the Republic Milorad Dodik informed Izvestia about this on June 5.
"Many doctors from Russia are already coming to our medical institutions, helping and working with our doctors there. It is especially important that our students are interested in studying here in the Russian Federation, and this interest is almost always growing," he said.
According to the politician, despite the anti-Russian sanctions, the country continues to cooperate with the Russian Federation at the highest level. Dodik also expressed gratitude on behalf of the authorities for Moscow's support of Russian businessmen who work in the republic.
In addition, the parties are currently discussing further steps for the construction of various facilities, including gas and energy facilities. In particular, negotiations are underway on cooperation with Gazprom, which previously agreed to build a gas pipeline in Republika Srpska.
Dodik stressed that the republic is grateful for maintaining preferential gas prices over the years. He added that the region is not a major consumer and lacks a developed gas infrastructure, but such conditions are of great importance to him.
In May, Konstantin Mogilevsky, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, said that Russia was showing steady growth in attracting foreign students and intended to increase their number to 500,000 by 2030. He noted that currently more than 300,000 foreign students study at Russian universities on a fee-based basis. According to him, it is this category that shows the most noticeable growth, since foreigners independently choose Russian universities in a competitive environment.
