Scientists predicted a G1-G2 magnetic storm on June 5
A G1-G2 level magnetic storm is expected on Earth, which will rage throughout the day. This was announced on June 5 at the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy at the Institute of Space Research (IKI) of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
It is specified that the effect of plasma from the first of three solar flares is recorded. Initial calculations predicted the clouds would merge into one on their way to Earth, but this scenario was not confirmed. Additional effects of the second and third plasma waves are possible during the day.
"The updated calculations, which exclude the scenario of clouds merging into one, show a storm level of no more than G1-G2. Apparently, this is the maximum that can be counted on today," the Telegram channel says.
A "black explosion" occurred on the Sun on June 3. According to the scientists of the IKI RAS, the luminary threw out a cloud of neutral hydrogen, which does not allow solar radiation to pass through. They explained that the light from the star is completely consumed by the ionization of this substance.
