The psychologist revealed the basis of mutual understanding between people
People can get closer to each other based on similar problems, cultural characteristics, professional interests, or mental disorders. Anna Guseva, a practicing psychologist, told Izvestia about this.
"Even if we are talking about the fact that people are attracted to each other from the perspective of certain psychological problems, it can be noted that in this case we are talking about the simplest skills of friendship and interaction, typical of the majority," she said.
Common interests and characteristics play a key role in interpersonal relationships. People who have gone through similar trials or joys often show deep understanding, even if they are meeting for the first time, the expert noted.
And when a person feels ease in communication, it seems to him that his brain has synchronized with the brain of the other person. But if communication between people is difficult, this does not mean that one of them is wrong - they just speak different neurocognitive languages, the editorial interlocutor emphasized. However, this is not a reason to communicate only with similar people.
"We should try to build bridges. The importance of interacting with those who are incomprehensible or annoying to us is seen as a path of development. Such interaction helps to broaden horizons and overcome stereotypes," Guseva concluded.
