Avtodor restored 3,500 km of roads in new regions of Russia

3.5 thousand km of roads were restored in the new regions of Russia from 2022 to 2025. This was announced to Izvestia on June 5 by the chairman of the Board of the state-owned Russian Highways company (Avtodor). Vyacheslav Petushenko at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2026).

According to Petushenko, Avtodor started operating in new regions in 2022. Since then, specialists have been annually restoring and overhauling approximately 700 km of roads.

"We entered a new region in 2022 and almost every year we restore and overhaul about 700 km, give or take. It's all been done. 2022-2025, there are already 3.5 thousand km there," he said.

In addition, all regional and federal road networks have been put in order during this period. In particular, 70 bridges were restored. Currently, similar work will continue in the Luhansk People's Republic (LPR), Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), as well as in the Zaporizhia and Kherson regions. The main focus will be on roads to municipalities and the restoration of bridge structures.

"This year, 800 km in all new ones, both in the DPR and the LPR, in Zaporozhye and in Kherson, we are making roads to municipalities and restoring bridges," said the head of Avtodor.

It is specified that in 2026 it is planned to repair another 800 km of tracks and restore about 12 bridges.

On the same day, Petushenko said that Russia continues to develop high-speed roads in the Moscow region, including routes to Minsk and Kaluga. According to him, they plan to bring the highway to Minsk almost to the border of the Smolensk region.
