Pasechnik allowed the transfer of part of the LPR schools to distance learning after the Ukrainian Armed Forces strike

On June 5, the head of the Luhansk People's Republic (LNR), Leonid Pasechnik, in the Izvestia studio at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), allowed the transfer of part of the region's schools to distance learning due to fears of a repeat of the tragedy at the Starobilsk Pedagogical College.

"I think that we will have to transfer some of the educational institutions that are located in close proximity to the specified zone, the frontline areas, to distance learning as well," the head of the LPR said.

Pasechnik noted that the Ukrainian side should stop shelling educational institutions and killing children, calling the attack on the college a blatant act of inhumanity and cynicism.

The authorities of the republic pay primary attention to the protection of infrastructure facilities, but after the attack on the college they are forced to reconsider their approaches to security, the head of the LPR said.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the educational building and the dormitory of the Starobilsk Pedagogical College on May 22. 21 people were killed and 65 others were injured. Foreign journalists who arrived at the damaged facility were banned from publishing reports from there.
